Our First Maternity Session — Emily's Story

Emily reached out to us through Facebook with a clear vision already in mind: she wanted her maternity photos to include her horses. Not just one — she brought two, hauling them down to a creek in Queen Creek in a trailer, one for her and one for her husband.

Getting the horses ready

Emily and her husband took the time to get both horses ready before we even started shooting, and once everyone was in place at the creek, the setting came together beautifully. It was the middle of summer, and it was hot — everyone, horses included, was sweating through the session — but the result was worth every bit of it.

A first for our maternity portfolio

This was our very first maternity session, and it opened up an entire category of our portfolio that's grown a lot since. We're genuinely thankful Emily trusted us with a session this meaningful, especially as her first choice to bring such a personal, specific vision to life.

Where they are now

Emily's baby is about to turn two, and she's since reached out again about booking a session — we just haven't found the right time to coordinate it yet. It's a nice reminder of how many of our client relationships turn into long-term ones instead of a single booking. The shots with the horses at the creek came out exactly as magical as Emily had pictured, and it's a session that's stuck with us ever since.
